THE HELPING HAND APPS WE USE DAILY TO GROW!

OUR FAVOURITE APPS TO HELP YOU MANAGE AND GROW YOUR BUSINESS

There seems to be an app for everything nowadays – from food delivery to TV streaming, from social networking to workout trackers – and this is also true of business tools. You can manage your business pretty effectively from the palm of your hand thanks to apps that make accounting, project management, communication, and so many more areas of business, easier. There are countless apps out there to help you as you navigate your way as a small business owner, and they’ll continue to be of use to you as your business grows. These are our top picks.

MONDAY.COM

We use monday.com every day at LVE THT HQ. It’s an incredible project management platform that allows us to keep on top of all our projects, whether they’re active, in the works, or temporarily dormant. Project management can be an arduous task at times, but with monday.com it’s made so simple.

The platform allows you to create boards that are separate from one another, which makes categorising projects by department, employee, or client really easy. You can set deadlines and milestones for projects, receive real-time updates on work, share documents, collaborate with others, and more, all from your monday.com board.

They offer a range of price points to cater for different budgets, as well as free trials for each of their pricing options so you can get to know the product before making any commitment.

XERO

Xero is a fantastic accounting app, that helps you manage the financial side of your business while removing the hassle. You can manage invoices, quotes, expenses, account reports, and more all from your phone, via the Xero app. Not only does Xero make managing your business accounts easier for you, but you can also sync your account with your accountant, bookkeeper, or other employees in order to make the process even easier.

Both their app and website are incredibly user friendly, so absolutely anyone can navigate the platform with ease. They’ve worked hard to make their user experience as pain-free as possible, and it shows in the final product.

In terms of pricing, they have a range of options to suit different budget and business needs, so there’s something for everyone. Although there is no free option (they do offer a free trial, however), we really believe that anything that can make managing the finances of your business easier is worth its weight in gold.

SLACK

Communications platform Slack is a great tool for staying in touch with your team in a far more efficient way than email. Email communication is slow, and you can be waiting hours for a reply that you need straightaway. Instead, Slack provides immediate access to your team and you can cut out the frustrating delays that come with traditional email.

You can create channels which help to keep different topics of conversation separate and organised – for example, you could have one channel for general chat amongst the marketing department, another for conversation about a specific project or product, another about company developments, and so on. You can also collaborate with teams at other companies via Slack Connect, which is an incredibly useful tool.

Slack has a variety of pricing plans available, including a free option for those on tighter budgets.

SHOPVENTORY

If your business relies on product sales, inventory can be a mammoth task to keep on top of – this is where Shopventory comes in.

The app monitors your product stock levels and lets you know when you’re running low on any single product so that you never unknowingly run out. It also has a really useful feature whereby the app identifies any slow-moving stock or low-profit items so that you can take action to combat this. As well as being incredibly useful from an admin point of view, the app is fully customisable, and it even makes payment processing easier. What’s not to love, right?

In terms of pricing, the app is on the more expensive end of the scale, however for the value it brings we feel it’s a worthwhile investment. There are a number of pricing plans available to suit different budgets and needs.

As a small business owner, you’re bound to always be on the go. So, having software that can help to manage some of the tasks on your list can only make your life easier. Whether you’re looking for a way to streamline your finances, to stay on top of inventory, to communicate with your team, to manage your ongoing projects, or for something else entirely, there’s an app to help you and your business.

All of our top picks are available on iOS and Android.
